For the reinforcement of the technical project coordination team within a major Luxembourg-based banking institution, we are looking for a Senior Windows System Engineer (external consultant). The role involves working on critical, high-availability Windows Server infrastructures subject to strict requirements in terms of security, performance, compliance, and SLA adherence. This is a sensitive production environment requiring rigor, autonomy, and the ability to operate within complex IT ecosystems.
Participate in infrastructure projects and manage small-scale technical projects
Contribute to a multidisciplinary team (Windows, VMware, security, tier applications, advanced troubleshooting)
Improve, stabilize, and automate Windows-based systems
Handle Level 3 support tickets in production environments
Ensure compliance with security and operational procedures
Produce and maintain technical documentation
Perform knowledge transfer to Level 2 support teams
Coordinate technical activities across teams when required
Minimum 8 years of professional experience in IT environments
Proven expertise in Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022, 2025)
Advanced PowerShell skills (scripting and automation)
Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies:
Windows Failover Cluster
Active Directory
ADFS
ADCS
Solid experience in Microsoft infrastructure security and cybersecurity best practices
Experience in critical production environments (financial sector, high SLA, strict service quality requirements)
Experience in technical project coordination
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks
Team-oriented mindset and strong communication skills
Fluency in French and English
Experience with VMware and Omnissa Horizon
Networking knowledge (DNS, web proxy, firewall, load balancing, etc.)
Experience with banking applications
Knowledge of MS Project
Ability to coordinate cross-team activities
Knowledge of Luxembourgish
Experience in structured administrative and compliance-driven environments
