Context

The Team Lead Security Architects role is focused on defining and maintaining the organization’s security architecture framework, including security standards and domain architecture security.

The position ensures that cybersecurity principles are embedded across IT and business initiatives, while keeping the security architecture effective, risk-informed, compliant, and cost-efficient.

The role also bridges the CISO office, enterprise architecture, and operational domains to strengthen cyber resilience, cloud adoption, and digital transformation efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the organization’s security architecture framework.
  • Ensure cybersecurity principles are consistently integrated into IT and business initiatives.
  • Provide strategic direction, governance leadership, and hands-on architectural oversight.
  • Ensure solutions align with risk management standards, regulatory requirements, and enterprise architecture objectives.
  • Structure, guide, and coordinate the Security Architecture Team.
  • Mentor junior and medior security architects.
  • Foster collaboration between the CISO Office, Enterprise Architecture, and operational domains.
  • Support risk-informed, business-aligned, and technically sound architectural decision-making.
  • Contribute to or establish security architecture governance processes, including design authorities and review mechanisms.
  • Improve traceability and control of architectural decisions in cyber resilience, cloud, and transformation initiatives.

Technical skills

Must have

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in ICT.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Security Architecture and Risk Management.
  • Proven hands-on and strategic experience in designing and implementing security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001 and NIST.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into security architecture solutions and risk-based decisions.
  • Leadership experience in coordinating, mentoring, and structuring a team of security architects.
  • Experience in large or complex organizations with multi-stakeholder governance.
  • Strong mastery of ISO/IEC 27001 and related 2700x standards.
  • Strong working knowledge of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and NIST SP 800-series guidelines.
  • Experience in risk assessments and implementation of cloud and enterprise security controls.
  • Good understanding of enterprise architecture principles such as SABSA, TOGAF, or equivalent.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Natural Sciences, or Economics.
  • Possession of at least two high-level security certifications, such as CISSP, CCSP, or CCSK/CCZT.
  • Fluent in English and either French or Dutch, with the ability to produce documentation and lead meetings in both languages.
  • Available from 01-Jul-2026.

Should have

  • Experience in sectors such as transport, energy, finance, or public sector.
  • Proven ability to align security architecture with business strategy and enterprise architecture objectives.
  • Experience contributing to governance mechanisms that support role clarity, balanced workload, and architectural consistency.
  • Strong capability to support compliance ambitions and overall cybersecurity resilience.

Nice to have

  • Additional certifications such as ISACA CISM or CRISC.
  • Certification related to ISO/IEC 27001.
  • Certification related to ISO/IEC 42001.
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or other relevant cloud certification.
