Senior Network Engineer

Context

Our client is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to contribute to the implementation of network segregation and to keep the LAN infrastructure up to date. The mission focuses on maintaining and evolving a complex network environment based on Extreme Networks, supporting security initiatives, improving OT network resilience, and contributing to infrastructure projects such as DRP and Lynx8. The consultant will work in a hybrid setup, with at least 3 days per week on-site in Brussels and potentially on production sites in Wallonia, depending on business needs.

Responsibilities

Maintain and update the Extreme Networks infrastructure.
Follow up on security tickets and CVEs related to the LAN environment, including switches, Wi-Fi and NAC.
Provide second-line support to users.
Configure and program Extreme switches.
Contribute to the DRP project, including design and implementation of Extreme hardware.
Perform physical data center maintenance, including rack-related activities.
Configure, test, implement and maintain monitoring through SolarWinds, including alerting and dashboards.
Configure the Nozomi tool for OT environments, including mirror ports on Extreme equipment.
Work with the Extreme XIQ tool.
Improve and maintain OT network resilience.
Support the Lynx8 project by fine-tuning the existing implementation.
Document new requests, existing infrastructure and changes.
Respect GDPR, ISO27001 and NIS2 requirements throughout the mission.
Take service continuity and project constraints into account when planning absences.

Technical skills

Must have

Senior experience as a Network Engineer.
Advanced knowledge of Cisco Routing & Switching.
Expert knowledge of DNS and DHCP.
Expert knowledge of Extreme NAC.
Expert knowledge of Extreme OS.
Expert knowledge of Extreme XIQ.
Expert knowledge of routing protocols.
Expert knowledge of network segregation and security.
Advanced knowledge of LACP, (M)LAG and mirror ports.
Advanced knowledge of technical documentation.
Advanced knowledge of SolarWinds IPAM.
Full professional proficiency in French, Dutch and English.
Availability for a full-time mission, 40 hours per week.
Ability to work at least 3 days per week on-site in Brussels and/or on production sites in Wallonia, potentially on non-consecutive days.
Willingness to comply with external provider conduct rules and office-hour restrictions.

Should have

Advanced knowledge of Nozomi for OT networking.
Advanced knowledge of Palo Alto Firewall, including Panorama and OS.
Advanced knowledge of Lynx in networking.
Experience with OT network resilience.
Experience with industrial networks, including SCADA environments.
Experience participating in network segregation projects.
Knowledge of IT security requirements for operators of essential services.
Intermediate knowledge of ISO27k standards.

Nice to have

Experience with DRP infrastructure projects.
Experience maintaining physical data center environments.
Experience configuring monitoring dashboards and alerting.
Familiarity with security frameworks linked to GDPR, ISO27001 and NIS2.
Experience working in public utility or critical infrastructure environments.
