Our client, a major energy infrastructure operator, is strengthening its digital platforms that support gas transmission and energy transition initiatives. Within the Gas Flow Management (GFM) product team, the Technical Owner ensures the long-term technical health of the platform, guiding architecture and development decisions while collaborating closely with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, and engineering teams.

The role combines technical leadership and hands-on development, ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions while supporting regulatory compliance and preparing systems for future low-carbon energy carriers such as hydrogen and biomethane.

Responsibilities

  • Own and safeguard the technical architecture, quality, and maintainability of the Gas Flow Management product.

  • Translate product requirements into technical designs, system interactions, and structured backlog items.

  • Ensure solutions are feasible, scalable, secure, and aligned with architectural standards.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members.

  • Contribute directly to development and technical implementation within the product team.

  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and Scrum Master to plan deliveries and ensure the definition of done is met.

  • Identify and resolve technical risks, bottlenecks, and technical debt.

  • Coordinate with architects, platform teams, and other technical stakeholders for cross-product alignment.

  • Support product planning and budgeting discussions by providing technical feasibility insights and trade-offs.

  • Promote knowledge sharing, consistency, and engineering best practices across the team and product ecosystem.

Technical skills

Must have

  • Strong hands-on experience with .NET (.NET 8 / .NET Framework) and ASP.NET Web API.

  • Solid experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle databases.

  • Experience with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ.

  • Practical experience with DevOps tools (Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines).

  • Strong knowledge of software architecture, system integration patterns, and scalable design.

  • Experience translating functional requirements into technical models, interfaces, and system designs.

  • Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor development teams.

  • Fluent in English.

Should have

  • Experience working in Agile product teams (Scrum environment).

  • Experience with system modeling techniques (UML, information models, interface contracts).

  • Strong collaboration skills with architects, analysts, and product stakeholders.

  • Ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term product sustainability.

  • Good command of French or Dutch, with willingness to improve the other language.

Nice to have

  • Experience in energy, utilities, or regulated infrastructure environments.

  • Exposure to large-scale distributed systems or integration-heavy platforms.

  • Experience contributing to cross-product technical standards or platform governance.
