Domain Architect – Asset management service

Context

The client is a major European transmission system operator operating in the energy sector. The role focuses on the Asset domain, ensuring that IT systems supporting infrastructure operations are coherent, secure, scalable, and aligned with strategic and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Translate business capabilities into actionable IT architectures and roadmaps
Design and maintain IT blueprints for the Asset domain
Define and enforce architectural standards and governance practices
Present architectural decisions to governance bodies (e.g., ARB)
Maintain and assess application and platform portfolio (e.g., TIME, 6R)
Identify optimization and reuse opportunities across systems
Conduct trade-off analyses (cost, risk, complexity, value)
Review and validate solution architectures within the domain
Build and maintain long-term domain roadmaps
Ensure data consistency, integration patterns, and interoperability
Collaborate with Data, Enterprise, Security, and Platform architects
Ensure compliance with security, resilience, and regulatory requirements
Define disaster recovery and business continuity strategies

Technical skills

Must have

Strong experience as IT Architect (Domain / Enterprise / Solution level)
Deep knowledge of TOGAF and ArchiMate
Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Agile Architecture
Proven experience in Energy / Utilities sector
Experience with Asset Management or infrastructure environments
Strong stakeholder management (C-level to technical teams)
Experience with architectural governance and decision-making
Knowledge of IT/OT integration and critical infrastructure systems
Professional English + native-level Dutch, French, or German

Should have

Experience with ATAM or similar evaluation frameworks
Familiarity with Gartner TIME or portfolio assessment methods
Experience working in regulated environments
Strong experience in data and integration architecture
Experience in large-scale enterprise environments

Nice to have

Experience in transmission system operators (TSO) context
Knowledge of energy transition challenges and technologies
Multilingual capabilities (additional national languages)
