Context

Within the Analytical Applications section of the IT department of a major European public financial institution, the mission focuses on the setup, administration, and migration of critical database environments. The role supports essential analytical and operational systems in a highly regulated, on-site environment with strong reliability and performance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Oracle and PostgreSQL database components on Linux

  • Perform Oracle database migrations, including version upgrades

  • Manage backup and recovery processes

  • Monitor databases, resolve incidents, and address performance degradation

  • Participate in on-call duties when required

Technical skills

Must have

  • Higher education degree in computer science or engineering

  • Proven experience as an Oracle and PostgreSQL DBA on Linux

  • Hands-on experience with Oracle 12c to 19c migrations

  • Experience in installation and maintenance of PostgreSQL databases

  • Ability to autonomously migrate large databases using XTTS, RMAN CONVERT, and Datapump

  • Professional working proficiency in French and English

Should have

  • Strong skills in backup and recovery strategies for PostgreSQL

  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control

  • Solid troubleshooting and performance optimization capabilities

Nice to have

  • Experience in highly regulated or public-sector IT environments

  • Familiarity with long-term on-site assignments and structured governance models
