Full Stack Data Platform Engineer

Context

Following the approval of a new data strategy and data platform, the Data Platform team is being strengthened with an additional Full Stack Data Platform Engineer. The mission is to industrialize the new data platform by applying platform engineering best practices, increasing automation, and implementing data enablement guardrails.

Responsibilities

  • Industrialize and operate the new cloud-native data platform.
  • Apply platform engineering and software engineering best practices.
  • Develop automation and platform tooling using Python and Shell scripting.
  • Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles.
  • Deploy, operate, and troubleshoot containerized applications on Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.
  • Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Provision and manage Snowflake resources through Terraform.
  • Automate environment provisioning, permission management, and platform governance.
  • Apply Snowflake security, RBAC, privilege, and resource-management principles.
  • Contribute to operational excellence across the Data Platform.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Technical skills

Must have

  • Strong proficiency in Python and Shell scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Deep understanding of AWS, including networking, IAM, compute, storage, and core cloud services.
  • Solid experience with Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.
  • Proficiency with Git and experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Good understanding of Snowflake administration, security, RBAC, privileges, resource hierarchy, and object lifecycle management.
  • Experience provisioning and managing Snowflake through Terraform.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including version control, code reviews, testing, and automation.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Should have

  • Experience with Bitbucket.
  • Experience with cloud-native data platforms.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps and platform engineering practices.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Knowledge of Apache Kafka.
  • Knowledge of event-driven architectures.
