This role supports the Customers, Markets and System (CMS) department of a major European transmission system operator. The mission is to define and drive the target Business Architecture and Information Architecture of the department, ensuring strong alignment between strategic objectives, business capabilities, data governance, and IT roadmaps. The position sits within the central Strategy Implementation and Transformation Office, with a strong focus on enabling a secure, sustainable, and efficient energy transition.
Define the target Business Architecture for the CMS department in line with management vision and strategy
Define required Business Capabilities and maintain Business Capability Maps
Elaborate and implement the Information Strategy within the CMS department
Identify and define Data Domains and support the assignment of Data Owners
Define Conceptual Business Information Models using standard toolkits
Determine the business capabilities required to support the target Information Architecture
Support the introduction of AI within business architecture activities
Identify business products and data products
Contribute to and lead decision-making through business architecture deliverables such as capability heatmaps
Lead initiatives to define and validate Business Architecture Blueprints
Collaborate with Domain Architects, Solution Architects, Business Stakeholders, and Business Analysts
Ensure alignment of the CMS Business Architecture with other departments
Ensure alignment between IT architecture, IT roadmap, Business Architecture, and Business Roadmap
Contribute to the refinement of architecture methodologies, frameworks, tools, and training
Animate and participate in governance and alignment meetings related to business and data architecture
Stay up to date with relevant market and architecture developments
At least 10 years of proven experience in Business Architecture and Information Architecture in a similar role
Degree in civil engineering, commercial engineering, or a master’s degree in a scientific discipline
Strong knowledge of how to define a Business Architecture framework
Strong ability to communicate complex topics clearly to different stakeholders
Solid understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
Solid understanding of Software Integration Patterns, platform technologies, Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and Data Mesh
Background and experience with implementations leveraging AI
Experience with UML, BPMN, and Archimate
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to take initiative, work independently, and coordinate transversal initiatives
Good level of Dutch and/or French and English
Experience in a large, complex, and cross-functional environment
Ability to bridge business strategy and execution across multiple stakeholders
Service-oriented mindset with a focus on continuity
Strong systemic thinking
Experience collaborating closely with IT and business teams in transformation contexts
Knowledge of Customers, Markets and System activities
Experience in the utilities or energy sector
