We are looking for a Senior Functional Analyst Data & Analytics to bridge business stakeholders and technical teams, translating complex business requirements into reliable, scalable and high-quality data solutions.
The consultant will contribute to the design and evolution of enterprise data warehouses, datamarts, analytical data models and reporting capabilities. The role involves supporting business-driven data initiatives, ensuring data quality and traceability, and contributing to the adoption of modern data platforms and cloud-enabled architectures where relevant.
Collaborate with business data analysts, business experts and project stakeholders to gather, clarify and formalize reporting, analytics and data requirements.
Produce and maintain functional design documents, detailed specifications and business rules.
Ensure end-to-end traceability between business requirements, source systems, business rules and delivered data solutions.
Work closely with Data Engineers, Business Process Analysts, IT Analysts and delivery teams.
Prototype and validate business rules with stakeholders.
Contribute to enterprise data warehouse, datamart and analytical data model design.
Define source-to-target mappings, integration logic and functional data flows.
Analyze and profile operational data sources and identify data quality issues.
Define and execute functional test plans, document test evidence and maintain issue logs.
Contribute to business-oriented access rights and data security requirements.
Assess project impacts, dependencies, risks and priorities.
Support effort estimation, scope definition and mitigation planning.
Promote continuous improvement in data governance and delivery practices.
Deliver Functional Design Documents (FDD), Source-to-Target Mappings (FMT), Logical Data Models and testing documentation.
Master’s degree.
At least 8 years of proven experience in Business Intelligence or Analytics.
At least 5 years of proven experience as a BI/Data Analytics Analyst or Consultant.
Proven experience with Erwin Data Modelling.
Proven experience with Power BI.
Proven experience with SAS Enterprise Guide (EG).
Proven experience with SAS Visual Analytics (SAS VA).
Proven experience in logistics reporting on SAP S/4HANA.
Senior-level experience in business requirements gathering and functional analysis.
Experience as a BI Functional Analyst across at least two distinct business sectors.
Experience with reporting, data warehousing and analytical solutions.
Familiarity with dimensional modelling, star schemas and data integration flows.
Ability to conceptualize business processes and data domains, demonstrable during an interview.
Ability to communicate ideas clearly and in a structured manner, demonstrable during an interview.
Fluency in French or Dutch.
Strong analytical, stakeholder management and communication skills.
Autonomous, proactive and solution-oriented approach.
Project Management certification or proven Project Management experience.
Experience within a Distribution System Operator (DSO/GRD).
Experience in the Utilities sector.
Proven experience with Oracle Exadata.
Proven experience with SAS Data Integration.
