Project Manager

Context

An experienced ICT Project Manager is required to support operational teams in the delivery of several successive IT/OT implementation projects within the gas and electricity distribution sector. The projects form part of a broader Smart Grid transformation programme. The Project Manager will operate within an established PMO governance framework and work closely with business stakeholders, IT delivery teams, sponsors, external suppliers and portfolio management.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the project sponsor, IT Delivery Manager and business representative to ensure successful project delivery.
Prepare project plans and project management documentation in accordance with the applicable PMLC and SDLC methodologies.
Organize and facilitate monthly Steering Committee meetings.
Produce regular Project Status Reports covering progress, commitments, risks, issues and mitigation measures.
Ensure that projects remain aligned with agreed budget, schedule, scope and quality objectives.
Coordinate project teams and all activities required for successful delivery.
Identify project resource requirements.
Coordinate with team managers to secure the required resources.
Review and validate hours worked by project resources.
Identify, assess and monitor project risks and issues.
Define and follow up on mitigation plans and corrective actions.
Coordinate external suppliers and third parties, including Fixed Price engagements.
Coordinate RFP processes and related stakeholder activities.
Provide ad hoc reporting to management and the Portfolio Management Office when significant deviations occur.
Follow the client’s project governance framework and PMO standards.

Participate in PMO team meetings and the Project and Programme Management community.

Technical skills

Must have

At least 5 years of demonstrable experience as an ICT Project Manager.
Senior-level project management experience.
Demonstrable experience using project management techniques and tools.
Strong experience in risk management and issue management.
Proven experience managing project budget, planning, scope and quality.
Proven experience managing external third parties under Fixed Price agreements.
Proven experience coordinating an RFP process.
Ability to prepare project plans, governance documents and project status reports.
Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and resource requirements.
Ability to manage senior stakeholders, sponsors, business representatives and IT delivery teams.
Perfect command of either French or Dutch.
Minimum B2 level in the second Belgian national language, French or Dutch.
Mandatory completion of the required Project Manager template.

Should have

Good command of English at B2 level.
Project management certification such as Prince2, PMP or an equivalent certification.
Proven experience using Planview.
Proven experience delivering Smart Grid projects.

Nice to have

Experience delivering IT/OT solutions.
Experience within the energy, utilities or infrastructure sector.
Experience working in a structured PMO or portfolio governance environment.
Knowledge of gas or electricity distribution activities.
