Functional Analyst BI

Context

Join the Digital Business Solutions department to help design and evolve an enterprise data platform that supports reporting, analytics, performance management and business decision-making. The role bridges business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions. The client company has been anonymized.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting and analytics requirements.
Analyse and formalise business needs into functional specifications.
Produce and maintain Functional Design Documents (FDD).
Define business rules and ensure their traceability.
Create Source-to-Target Mappings (STM/FMT).
Contribute to enterprise data warehouse and datamart design.
Design logical data models and analytical information flows.
Define data integration logic.
Analyse operational data sources.
Identify and help resolve data quality issues.
Validate business rules throughout delivery.
Define and execute functional testing activities.
Support business-oriented access rights and security requirements.
Assess project impacts, risks and dependencies.
Provide functional expertise to project managers and delivery teams.
Contribute to effort estimation and scope definition.
Promote continuous improvement in data governance and delivery practices.

Technical skills

Must have

Experience as a Functional Analyst in Data, Business Intelligence or Analytics environments.
Strong analytical mindset.
Experience with reporting and data warehousing solutions.
Knowledge of data modelling concepts.
Understanding of dimensional modelling and star schema.
Ability to bridge business and technical stakeholders.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Autonomous, proactive and solution-oriented.

Should have

Experience designing logical data models.
Experience defining Source-to-Target Mappings.
Knowledge of data integration flows.
Experience with functional testing.
Experience working on enterprise data platforms.
Understanding of data governance practices.

Nice to have

Interest in modern data platforms.
Exposure to cloud technologies.
Knowledge of modern analytics ecosystems.
