Network & Security Engineer

Context

A large enterprise IT Services department is looking for a Senior Network & Security Engineer to support, maintain, troubleshoot and evolve critical network and security infrastructures operating in a 24/7 environment. The role focuses initially on LAN, WAN and WLAN technologies while contributing to datacenter, cloud connectivity and security initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain network and security infrastructures.
  • Administer Cisco Nexus environments.
  • Manage Meraki SD-WAN, LAN and WLAN platforms.
  • Operate and support F5 solutions.
  • Maintain Check Point firewalls and VPN infrastructures.
  • Support Ivanti VPN environments.
  • Ensure incident management across L1, L2 and L3 support levels.
  • Deliver WAN, LAN, WLAN, Datacenter and DevOps projects.
  • Troubleshoot network incidents and problem management activities.
  • Automate operational and administrative procedures through scripting.
  • Maintain technical documentation.
  • Ensure infrastructure availability, performance and security compliance.
  • Respect SLA commitments and change management processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on projects and operational activities.
  • Ensure network services remain secure and operational at all times.

Technical skills

Must have

  • 5–7 years of experience in Network and Security Engineering.
  • Strong experience with Meraki WLAN and Switching.
  • Strong experience with F5 technologies.
  • Experience in Cloud Networking environments.
  • Good experience with Cisco Nexus infrastructures.
  • Experience with Check Point Firewalls and VPN solutions.
  • Expertise in network security technologies.
  • Experience with LAN, WAN and WLAN environments.
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex network incidents.
  • French or Dutch native level with good knowledge of the other national language.
  • Professional English proficiency.

Should have

  • Experience with SD-WAN technologies.
  • Scripting and automation capabilities.
  • Experience in datacenter environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience collaborating in operational and project environments.
  • Coaching and training capabilities.

  • DevOps project exposure.
  • Reverse Proxy experience.
  • IDS/IPS technologies experience.
  • People management experience.
  • Advanced documentation and process improvement experience.
