Data Engineer Senior

Context

The role is part of the IT Front Data Team, supporting multiple strategic data initiatives and business-as-usual operations. The mission focuses on building and maintaining a robust data foundation to enable analytics and reporting across several ongoing projects.

Responsibilities

Build, maintain, and optimize batch and streaming data pipelines
Design and manage data models (e.g., dimensional models, Data Vault)
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries
Manage and monitor data pipelines, ensuring reliability and performance
Troubleshoot incidents and perform root cause analysis
Handle orchestration and automation of data workflows
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements
Maintain existing jobs and support onboarding of new data sources

Technical skills

Must have

Expert-level SQL skills (advanced queries, performance tuning)
Strong Python development experience
Hands-on experience with AWS (Glue, S3, Redshift)
Proven experience building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines
Strong experience in ETL/ELT processes and data transformation
Experience in debugging and resolving data pipeline issues
Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities
Full professional proficiency in English and French
Minimum 10 years of experience in Data Engineering or similar roles

Should have

Experience with data modeling techniques (dimensional, Data Vault)
Experience working with data lakes and data warehouses
Strong collaboration skills with business and technical stakeholders
Experience working in complex project environments

Nice to have

Knowledge of Dutch
Experience in insurance or financial services domain (Not specified but contextually likely)
