Machine Learning Engineer

Context

Our client is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to help industrialize AI and analytics solutions. The role focuses on building and integrating production-ready ML pipelines, supporting the development, deployment, and monitoring of AI services, and ensuring smooth collaboration between AI & Analytics teams and IT Production.

The Machine Learning Engineer will contribute to data quality checks, data flow design, model integration, and monitoring to make sure ML models operate reliably in production and continue to deliver business value over time.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Data Scientists to define and develop ML solutions while taking production constraints into account
  • Help select the appropriate run infrastructure and serving model based on business needs such as real-time responses and processing volumes
  • Automate the different components of the ML pipeline for integration and deployment into production environments
  • Build and manage Docker or virtual machine images as part of deployment processes
  • Prepare and support unit, regression, and integration testing
  • Support Data Scientists in using existing industrial solutions and CI/CD tools to build and monitor AI services
  • Support IT Production in the parameterization of the target environment
  • Ensure models run without errors in production
  • Ensure models are retrained when needed, including automated retraining where relevant
  • Monitor models from both an IT performance and business performance perspective
  • Contribute to improving industrial code development standards across the ML & AI community

Technical skills

Must have

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced Python skills
  • Experience with containerization / virtualization
  • Experience with AI platforms and IDEs
  • Experience with CI/CD, especially gitlab-ci
  • Knowledge of code, model, and data versioning
  • Experience with package management tools and dependency management
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Results-driven mindset and ability to deliver
  • Strong attention to detail and rigor
  • Problem-solving mindset with creativity and innovation
  • Continuous learning attitude and willingness to improve knowledge
  • Awareness of efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ability to collaborate constructively and stay open to change, feedback, and new ideas

Should have

  • Experience with integration using different technologies, including distributed systems and mainframe-related environments
  • Experience with ELT / ETL tools
  • Experience with Big Data tools, especially Spark
  • Knowledge of data flow processing
  • Experience with data visualization tools
  • Ability to think outside existing processes and frameworks
  • Proactive and empowered approach to contributing to team and company success

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of model compression techniques
  • Dutch language skills
  • French language skills
