The client is a major European electricity transmission system operator responsible for ensuring the reliability and sustainability of the power supply.
Within the Group IT organization, the Enterprise Architect will play a key role in defining and governing the enterprise architecture framework. The role supports the evolution of the IT landscape by ensuring alignment between business needs, digital platforms, and architectural standards while contributing to strategic decision-making and long-term IT roadmaps.
Define and continuously improve the enterprise architecture governance framework, including principles, standards, policies, and reference architectures
Facilitate Architecture Review Board (ARB) sessions and manage architectural decision workflows
Translate platform guardrails into actionable guidance for delivery teams
Support strategic studies and decision-making discussions with the Head of IT Architecture
Coach and guide architecture roles across the organization
Communicate application strategy and architecture processes to business and IT stakeholders
Analyze business and IT gaps using surveys and landscape assessments
Perform cross-domain trade-off analysis using industry methods such as ATAM and CBAM
Provide recommendations to evolve the application portfolio in collaboration with application owners
Maintain the enterprise architecture repository and Architecture Decision Records (ADR)
Validate architectural recommendations with senior IT and business management
Contribute to the development of an enterprise-wide IT roadmap
Align architecture processes with IT governance frameworks such as Project Portfolio Management and IT Service Management
Perform initiative architecture alignment assessments at project kick-off and key milestones
Conduct periodic architecture compliance reviews during project delivery
Define and maintain enterprise data architecture standards
Assess initiative-level data architectures against defined standards
Propose a maturity roadmap for enterprise architecture capabilities
Minimum 10 years of experience in Enterprise Architecture
Proven experience facilitating Architecture Review Boards (ARB) and producing traceable decision packs
Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, ArchiMate, ITIL)
Experience with cloud-native architecture patterns
Experience with platform governance and architectural guardrails
Strong stakeholder management across Business and IT leadership
Experience with application portfolio management methodologies
Familiarity with microservices and event-driven architecture
Experience using architecture modeling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect or SAP LeanIX
Fluency in English
Knowledge of Gartner architecture frameworks such as TIME
Experience with architecture trade-off analysis methods (ATAM, CBAM)
Ability to promote and drive reference architecture adoption across teams
Strong presentation and communication skills
Experience aligning architecture with IT governance processes
Experience in mergers and acquisitions transformation programs
Hands-on experience delivering IT solutions in agile environments
Knowledge of the Energy or Utilities sector
