Our client is seeking an experienced full-time Data Warehouse Developer to lead the migration of an on-premise data warehouse (Oracle and Informatica ETL) to a modern, cloud-based architecture on AWS. The mission focuses on designing and implementing scalable cloud-native data solutions using AWS services, Snowflake, DBT, and AWS Glue. The contract runs initially until June 30th, with the intention of establishing a long-term collaboration. A minimum of two on-site days per week in Bornem or Aartselaar is required.
Lead the migration from on-premise Oracle and Informatica ETL solutions to AWS and Snowflake
Design, implement, and optimize cloud-based data warehouse solutions using AWS services
Develop and manage scalable ETL/ELT pipelines leveraging AWS Glue, DBT, and related AWS tools
Integrate and optimize cloud-native data pipelines
Support migration of BI data feeds (including Qlik as a plus) to AWS Cloud and ensure integration with AWS Quicksight and analytics tools
Design and maintain cloud-optimized data models (star schema, snowflake schema, dimensional modeling)
Monitor and improve performance, scalability, and data quality of cloud data warehouse solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to gather requirements and coordinate activities
Manage project timelines and stakeholder communication
Document technical processes and provide guidance on cloud data warehousing best practices
Stay updated on AWS cloud data warehousing technologies and industry trends
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Minimum 8 years of experience in data warehousing, ETL development, and BI
Proven experience migrating on-premise data warehouse environments to AWS and Snowflake
Strong hands-on expertise with AWS services (AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, AWS S3, AWS Quicksight)
Solid experience with DBT in cloud environments
Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python
Strong expertise in cloud-based ETL solutions and cloud data engineering
In-depth knowledge of data modeling (star schema, snowflake schema, dimensional modeling)
Experience with Apache Iceberg table formats
Experience in stakeholder management and Agile project management
Professional proficiency in English and Dutch
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Availability for at least 2 on-site days per week in Bornem or Aartselaar
Experience migrating Qlik data feeds or similar BI tools
Experience in the financial services or automotive sector
Basic understanding of German
Additional languages beyond English, Dutch, and German
Broader experience with other modern cloud analytics tools
