You will work on a strategic cloud engineering service for a major European player in the energy transmission sector. Operating in a fast-evolving energy landscape, the organization is actively contributing to building a sustainable, green, and reliable electricity infrastructure across Belgium and Germany. As part of a mixed team of contingent workers and internal staff, you will support cloud platforms that are critical to ensuring system reliability, security, and performance, while aligning with agile delivery practices.
Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot managed and self-hosted cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure
Manage platforms and services such as Kubernetes, Kafka, PostgreSQL, CEPH, Keycloak, and Opensearch
Apply patching and routine updates in line with security and organizational processes
Configure and manage access controls, identities, and secrets
Maintain infrastructure configuration using Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Helm)
Support deployments and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or equivalent tools
Monitor system health, handle incidents, and escalate complex issues when required
Contribute to capacity and performance monitoring and optimization
Perform backups, restore operations, and basic disaster recovery activities
Collaborate with development, engineering, and security teams to resolve system-level issues
Participate in Scrum ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives)
Produce and maintain technical and operational documentation
Participate in on-call or shift rotations according to operational policies
Hands-on experience with Azure cloud infrastructure operations
Strong knowledge of Azure services including:
Azure Access Control
Azure Virtual Network
Azure Firewall
Azure VPN Gateway
Azure Monitoring
Logic Apps
Operational experience with Kubernetes, Kafka, PostgreSQL, CEPH, Opensearch, and Keycloak
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Azure DevOps, Git, ArgoCD, Helm)
Solid understanding of cloud security, IAM, and data protection
Professional working proficiency in English
Basic scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently while following guidance from senior engineers or architects
Experience with ticketing and documentation systems
Knowledge of additional languages: French, Dutch, or German
Prior experience in large-scale or regulated infrastructure environments
Exposure to energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure sectors
Experience with cost monitoring and optimization in cloud environments
