A public financial institution contributing to financial stability and trust is strengthening its AI capabilities. The Senior AI Engineer will act as technical lead within a multidisciplinary team to design, deliver, and operationalize secure, standardized, and cost-effective AI solutions. The role focuses on translating business needs into impactful AI applications using Azure AI Services, Databricks, and the Microsoft Power Platform, while ensuring reusability, scalability, and measurable business value.
Translate business use cases into optimal AI solution architectures, prioritizing simplicity, security, standardization, and reuse
Design, develop, and coordinate end-to-end AI solutions based on Azure AI Services
Act as technical lead: coach and advise team members on architecture and implementation choices
Define, document, and maintain reference architectures and coding standards
Deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code and reusable modules
Estimate technical costs (infrastructure and effort) for development and maintenance of AI solutions
Collaborate with architects and subject matter experts to ensure alignment with enterprise standards
Strong expertise in Azure cloud platform, including networking and security
Hands-on experience with Azure AI Services (Document Intelligence, OpenAI, AI Search, AI Foundry)
Expert knowledge of Generative AI concepts: LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, chunking, indexing, search & ranking
Experience with end-to-end development, including backend and frontend (UI/UX)
Proven use of Terraform for Azure infrastructure deployment
Advanced proficiency in Python
Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), CI/CD, and test-driven development
Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and solution-oriented approach
Full professional proficiency in English
Good working knowledge of Databricks, including Mosaic AI, PySpark, SQL, and pipeline orchestration (Airflow)
High-level understanding of the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, embedded AI)
Experience in solution architecture, balancing best-fit technologies with integration needs
Team leadership experience with strong communication and collaboration skills
Pro-active, entrepreneurial attitude and ability to translate business needs into technical value
Knowledge of Spark beyond core data processing use cases
Experience in regulated or public-sector environments
Working knowledge of Dutch or French
