For a large enterprise organization, the mission focuses on owning and evolving Kubernetes-based platforms and workloads across public cloud and on-prem environments. The role combines application ownership, cloud architecture leadership, and platform optimization, ensuring that cloud solutions are scalable, secure, compliant, and financially sustainable.
Working closely with technical architects, internal teams, and external partners, the position plays a key role in aligning cloud platforms with business strategy and enterprise standards.
The assignment is a long-term mission starting on 23/02/2026 and running until 29/02/2028, offering stability and strategic impact within the cloud and infrastructure landscape.
Act as Application Owner for Kubernetes-based platforms and workloads across public cloud and on-prem environments
Ensure end-to-end accountability for the application lifecycle: operational readiness, availability, security, compliance, capacity planning, upgrades, and decommissioning
Translate business and IT strategy into scalable, secure cloud architectures in collaboration with technical architects
Define and maintain cloud building blocks, architecture standards, and reference patterns
Provide architectural oversight to ensure alignment with enterprise objectives and regulatory requirements
Continuously evaluate and optimize Kubernetes platform performance, reliability, and efficiency
Propose, validate, and prioritize platform enhancements in line with business and operational needs
Conduct feasibility studies and architectural, operational, and financial impact analyses
Apply FinOps principles to ensure cost transparency and sustainable cloud consumption
Provide expert technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing within the team
Review and validate technical deliverables from external partners to ensure quality and compliance
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Cloud Architect on Microsoft Azure in production environments
Minimum 5 years of hands-on Kubernetes experience in production (platform and workloads)
Proven experience with hybrid architectures spanning public cloud and on-prem environments
Demonstrable experience defining and enforcing architecture standards and governance frameworks
Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
Fluency in French (C1) and/or Dutch (C1) and English (C2), written and spoken
Availability to start from 23/02/2026
Availability to work on-site in Brussels twice per week, with Thursday as a fixed day
Strong experience in cloud and Kubernetes platform optimization
Proven ability to apply FinOps practices for cost optimization and governance
Experience leading feasibility studies and impact analyses in complex environments
Strong stakeholder management skills with internal teams and external partners
Experience mentoring architects or senior engineers
Exposure to multi-cloud or private cloud environments
Experience in regulated or large enterprise environments
