Functional Analyst – Senior

Context

You will join the IT department of a large organization, composed of several hundred collaborators with a strong focus on software development. The role is positioned within the Core Engine Delivery department, responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of IT solutions across multiple Tribes.

You will be part of the IT500 squad within the transversal Functions Tribe, delivering back-end and/or front-end applications for internal business stakeholders. The squad operates in a mature Agile environment, with a Product Owner, Scrum Master, and an autonomous, accountable team. This is a 6-month mission starting January 2026, with the consultant fully integrated into the squad’s daily activities and continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business needs into clear functional analyses and user stories aligned with Agile practices

  • Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to refine requirements and maximize business value

  • Coordinate and support the implementation of software solutions within the squad

  • Define functional specifications in collaboration with the architecture team

  • Support architects and software engineers during development and implementation phases

  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (refinement, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives)

  • Test solutions in the integrated environment and/or support acceptance testing with internal clients

  • Support release management activities and ensure functional readiness

  • Identify risks, issues, and dependencies and propose optimal functional solutions

  • Analyze the impact of changes on existing modules and proactively report potential issues

  • Maintain up-to-date functional documentation and knowledge

  • Share lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement within the squad

Technical skills

Must have

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Business or Functional Analyst role

  • Strong expertise in Business Analysis and Functional Analysis

  • Very good knowledge of IT architecture

  • Good knowledge of business rules modeling (BPMN)

  • Good knowledge of software testing

  • Very good command of MS Office tools

  • Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • Fluent French

Should have

  • Experience with enterprise architecture concepts

  • Working knowledge of project management

  • Experience in Agile / Scrum environments

  • Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and internal client satisfaction

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI)

  • Experience creating user guides and functional manuals

  • Support experience during deployment and post-release phases

  • Knowledge of Dutch

  • Knowledge of English
