Data is a key enabler of the overall strategy of a leading energy infrastructure group. Within a group-wide data and digitalization program, the Smart Data Factory data team and platform were created to support decision-making with actionable insights. To keep pace with growing business demand, the team is looking for a BI Finance Solution Designer who will bridge Finance business needs and technical solutions by designing robust data models and BI solutions that enable smarter and faster decision-making.
Engage with Finance business stakeholders to capture, refine, and document BI requirements in a clear and actionable format.
Act as the main interface between business teams and technical profiles such as Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and BI Developers.
Design high-quality conceptual and analytical data models, including star and snowflake schemas.
Define and maintain a BI solution blueprint covering data sources, transformations, and visualization specifications.
Collaborate with Data and Analytics Engineers to ensure data pipelines deliver accurate, timely, and well-structured datasets.
Work closely with BI Developers to align semantic models, dashboards, and reports with agreed designs and standards.
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and contribute to the prioritization of BI deliverables.
Review and validate BI solutions to ensure accuracy, usability, performance, and alignment with business requirements.
Demonstrated success in delivering scalable Finance BI solutions across multiple functional domains.
Strong ability to understand business needs and translate them into BI and data requirements.
Extensive experience designing scalable, governed BI datasets and solutions using Power BI.
Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling and financial data structures.
Strong data exploration, profiling, and analysis skills.
Solid understanding of Finance business processes supported by SAP S/4HANA Finance & Controlling (General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Asset Accounting, etc.).
Ability to document BI solution designs, data models, and business definitions for both technical and business audiences.
French or Dutch native speaker.
Good understanding (reading and listening) of the other national language and of English (B1 or higher).
Senior-level expertise in designing financial reporting and dashboarding solutions on top of SAP S/4HANA Finance & Controlling with non-SAP BI technologies.
Senior-level knowledge of reporting and data visualization design best practices.
Strong analytical mindset with a problem-solving orientation.
Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes and related solutions.
Knowledge of Data Lakehouse and Medallion Architecture best practices on Azure Databricks, including governance with Unity Catalog.
Knowledge of dbt.
Experience with data governance processes and tools.
Familiarity with Agile practices such as Scrum.
Previous experience in the energy sector.
